Hampton, VA - The Lady Wildcats of Bethune Cookman College won their second consecutive MEAC Women's Tennis Championship defeating the Spartans of Norfolk State 5-2. The Lady Wildcats entered the tournament ranked 65th in the latest ITA national rankings. This also the Spartans first trip to the championship match since joining the MEAC in 1997.
The Lady Wildcats finish singles play with a 4-2 lead and finished their championship run when number one doubles team Dorota Glowacka/Kara Sayle defeated Shana Smith/Tserina Domaccose 8-2.
