Morehouse College Men, Albany State Women Claim SIAC Track and Field Championships

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference concluded it annual outdoor track and field championships today at the Albany State Track Complex. Morehouse College won its third consecutive men's outdoor track and field title, scoring 287.75 points. The host school, Albany State University, took the top honors in the women's competition with 240 points.

Individual honors went to Morehouse's Momodou Drammeh, who claimed the Best Performance Award in men's track. Drammeh scored 30 points in winning the 800, 1500 and 3000 meter runs. Corey Moore, also of Morehouse, clained the best field performance award in the men's competition.

On the women's side of the ledger, Sharlene Fuller of Fort Valley State won the award for the best performance in track, scoring 37 points. Fuller also took home the Cleve Abbott award for best overall performance in the neet. Best field performance honors went to Albany State's Georgjeana Turbough, who had 28 points.

Willie Hill of Morehouse won the men's track and field Coach of the Year award, while willie Laster of Albany State was voted as women's track and field coach of the year.
