SIAC Track and Field Championships
Notes from the Head Timer - Day 2 - April 16:

On a very sunny and warm day in Albany, GA, the second day of the SIAC Championships were held. There was a slight tailwind for the 100m and hurdle prelims.

After 6 final events, Albany State holds a slight edge over Clark AU and Fort Valley 74-65-57. Its still a close battle, but should come down to ASU and Clark for the team title.

Over on the mens side, Morehouse leads it 113-85-33 over Albany State and Savannah State.

Because the 1500m for men and women will be run as a final on Saturday. There were only 8 teams entered in the 1600m relay for women, so that will be a final also.

Really nothing spectacular to report today. . . Morehouse flexed its muscles in some of the throwing events going 1-2-4 in the Discus. They also dominated the only distance final that was run today: the 3k Steeplechase by going 1-3-5.

For the women, ASU set themselves up quite well by qualifying the three best times in the 100, and the top 2 time 400m. Clark AU didn't budge too much by filing the top 2 places in the Triple Jump final.

Tomorrow should have some classic finals. I will be sure to keep better notes, but right now, its 2am and I'm beat. Thanks for all of the e-mail that people have sent, Ill try to answer you guys more in depth when I get back home.

By the way, if you have a question on any particular event, shoot me an e-mail and Ill send you the specific break downs.

See you on the track!
