Hampton, VA... The Bethune-Cookman College Lady Wildcats won the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Women's Tennis title by defeating the Florida A&M Rattlerettes, 5-2. This is the first victory in BCC's history for either the men's or women's tennis programs.
In doubles action, R'Abel and Chipopola won their match against Mowatt and Granderson of FAMU, 8-3. In singles play, tournament MVP Marta Kostrhounova topped Johanne Mowatt, 6-2 and 6-1. while Aina R'Abel defeated Lady Rattlerette Jamie Barnes, 6-0 and 6-1.

Hampton, VA... Hampton University defeated the Spartanetts of Norfolk State 5-0, to earn a third place finish in the women's draw of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament Championship. The Lady Pirates jumped up early, sweeping doubles play 3-0.
Straight set wins by Cristina Ferreira (6-0, 6-1) and Eva Svobodova (6-2, 6-1) clinched the win for Hampton University.
