The Eagles of Coppin State defeat N.C. A&T In Closest Match of the Day

Coppin State men defeated North Carolina A&T 5-4 in a closely contested match in the second round of MEAC Tennis Championship. A&T's top three seeds won but Coppin State countered by pulling out wins in spots 4-6. The doubles point proved to be the difference with Coppin getting two of the three points, including one by default.

Coppin will play Morgan State at 8am at Hampton High.

HAMPTON 4 HOWARD 0 - MEN
Number one seed Hampton swept all three singles matches and both doubles contest in a 4-0 win over number seven Howard in a winner's bracket match of the 1999 MEAC Tennis Tournament. Tomas Ibler and Greg Newton were victorious in their singles and doubles matches for the Pirates.
