Alabama State 27, Tuskegee 7

Montgomery, AL - Quarterback Darnell Kennedy threw for 244 yards and one touchdown to lead Alabama State to a 75th Annual Turkey Day Classic victory over Tuskegee. Kennedy completed 18 of 30 passes without an interception. His longest pass was to senior, ALL-SWAC tight end Johnny Huggins for 45 yards.

ASU's Damon Hodge, also recently named to the ALL-SWAC team, caught six passes for 93 years.

The Hornets scored first in the second quarter on a 7 yard run by Kennedy. The drive went 80 yards in 11 plays to give ASU a 6-0 halftime lead.

"Bama" State scored two more times following intermission; first on a Johnny Smith 57 yard run, then ten minutes later when Kennedy completed a four yard pass to Hodge to extend the Hornet lead to 20-0.

Tuskegee did not score until the final quarter when Willie Dale ran two yards for a score to cut the lead to 20-7. The Golden Lions were led by Spirit Awards nominee Michael Scott who rushed for a game high 140 yards.

Tuskegee QB Aaron James completed 10 of 24 passes for just 65 yards. He was sacked twice by ASU linebacker, Tyrone Rogers performing for the last time before a hometown crowd. Rogers is a graduate of Montgomery's Robert E. Lee High School.

Sedrick Easterling completed the Hornet offensive run on a 2 yard plunge with 4:47 remainng in the game.

Alabama State finishes the season at 5-6. Tuskegee will take a 9-2 record into the Pioneer Bowl, December 19 in Atlanta.
