MEAC Announces Men's and Women's Basketball TV ScheduleNovember 3, 2000GREENSBORO, NC --The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference will have 10 men's regular season games and three MEAC Tournament games televised this season on HTS, The Sunshine Network and New Urban Entertainment (NUE)-TV. The conference will also televise five women's regular season basketball games and three MEAC Women's Tournament games this season on the same networks. Some of the featured televised men's contests will include a rematch of last years MEAC Tournament finals contestants, South Carolina State University and Coppin State College in Baltimore on January 13. Another attractive match-up will be a rematch of last years MEAC Tournament semi-finals contestants, Hampton University and North Carolina A&T in Greensboro on January 20. Also airing will be the fierce rivalry between Norfolk State University and Hampton on March 3 in Hampton. The women's schedule tips off on January 15 as Howard University visits Bethune-Cookman College. Florida A&M University travels to Norfolk State University on January 27. The three remaining televised contests include; Coppin State at Norfolk State on February 10; Howard at Morgan State University on February 24 and Norfolk is at Hampton on March 3. Both of the women's semi-final games and the women's championship game will be televised. The semi-finals will begin on March 9 at noon, while the championship game is scheduled to begin at noon on March 10. The partnership with these affiliates allows MEAC women's basketball the opportunity to be exposed to 20 million viewers. The MEAC begins its ninth season of nationally televised games on HTS. As it has been in the past, HTS will televise all of the MEAC Tournament semi-final games and the Men's championship game. The semi-finals will begin on March 9 at noon, while the men's championship game will be played at 4:00 p.m. on March 10. The partnership with these affiliates allows MEAC basketball the opportunity to be exposed to 20 million viewers.
