Jackson, MS - Jackson State University has scheduled a press conference at 10:00 a.m. Friday to introduce Denise Taylor as its women's basketball coach.Taylor, 38, is the former head coach of the WNBA's Utah Starzz where she compiled a 13-34 record before she was fired in July, 1998. The Cleveland, MS native is familiar with the SWAC having played for Texas Southern from 1980-84. She replaces Andrew Pennington who was reassigned to an administrative position after an 8-18 season. In 12 seasons at JSU, Pennington had a 171-162 record. |
