Paine 66, Miles 64

Fairfield, AL – Senior forward Sade Odutola produced a double-double to lead the Miles women’s basketball team with 18 points and a game-high 18 boards, as they fell to Paine College Lady Lions 66-64 at Knox-Windham Gymnasium. The Lady Bears drop to 3-6; 1-4 in the conference and Paine improves to 1-6; 1-4 in the SIAC.

Miles led by two at the half 33-31, but could not hang on as they shot just 35.1 percent (20-of-57) from the floor, 31.3 percent (5-of-16) in 3-pointers and hit 19-of-28 (67.9) free throws for the game. Paine shot 41.1 percent from the field and 72 percent from the line.

Cyntonia Jones added another double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds and three steals, while Cyntauria Jones scored 16 and hit 5-of-6 free throws. Ashley Orphey had a game-high 6 assist, while grabbing three steals.

LaKeisha Bell led Paine with a double-double 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Lady Bears will play Tuskegee University Lady Tigers in Tuskegee, Alabama on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 5:30.
