Miles 67, Morehouse 63

Atlanta, GA – Senior guard Flawaan Flaggs scored a game-high 23 points to lead three Miles Golden Bears in double figures as they beat the Morehouse Maroon Tigers 67-63 at Forbes Arena. The Golden Bears improve to 5- 6; 5-3 in the SIAC, while Morehouse falls to 3-5; 1-4 in the conference.

The two teams went to halftime tied 38-38, as Miles hit 41.2 percent of their shots, 60 percent from the 3-point line and 57.1 percent from the free throw line. Morehouse shot 51.9 percent from the floor and 70 percent at the foul line.

Flaggs led the Golden Bears with 16 points at halftime and Lawrence Diamond and Jerry Felder had 12 points each for Morehouse.

For the game, Miles would hit 14-of-34 (40%) shots from the field, 8-of-18 (44.4%) baskets from behind the arc and 7-of-13 (53.8%) from the line. Morehouse hit 46.2% (14-of-27) shots and 52.4% (11-of-21) from the free throw line.

Flaggs hit 8-of-17 shots, 4of-8 three pointers and 3-of-5 in free throws. Center Chijioke Maduabunchi scored 11 points while making 5-of-8 shots and grabbed a game-high 8 rebounds. Guards Larry Swain and Leon Mckinney added 10 and 9 points apice. McKinney also had 7 rebounds and Eddie Ishman pulled in 6 boards and scored 5 points. Reggie Griffin dished out a game-high 8 assist.

Lawrence Diamond led the Maroon Tigers in scoring with 20 and Jelani Figures added 12 points and 7 rebounds.

The Golden Bears will travel to Atlanta, Georgia on Monday, January 12 to play the Panthers of Clark Atlanta University at 8:00 p.m. (EST).
