MEAC adds game to football television schedule

October 15, 2007

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) has added the South Carolina State University versus Hampton University football game, Saturday, Oct. 20, to the conference’s ESPNU television schedule.  The game increases the MEAC’s televised football package to eight games for the 2007 season.

Three-time defending MEAC champion Hampton Pirates will host the league’s preseason favorite SCSU Bulldogs in their annual homecoming game at Armstrong Stadium beginning at 2 p.m.  The game will be taped delayed but will broadcast later that night beginning at 8 p.m.  The Pirates and Bulldogs have met 13 times before with Hampton holding to an 11-2 series record.

“We are very elated that ESPN decided to add this game to our TV package,” said MEAC Commissioner Dennis Thomas.  “With this game on ESPNU fans will be able to see two outstanding teams as they vie for the conference championship.”
