SIAC Football Kickoff Luncheon set for July 25

Tucker, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) will host its annual Football Kick-Off Luncheon on Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center Decatur (130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur, GA 30030). The time is set for 12:30 pm.
The luncheon will feature head football coaches, players, and athletic directors from all ten SIAC football playing institutions. The coaches will provide insight on the 2008 football season including expectations, key acquisitions, and returning impact players. Each team’s coach and players will be available for one-on-one interviews following the luncheon.
 In addition to the luncheon, the 2008 Preseason SIAC All Conference Football team and predicted order of finish will be announced. The SIAC television schedule will also be announced during the luncheon.
The 2008 SIAC football season will begin on August 23, 2008 and will feature Fort Valley State vs. Valdosta State University. The conference will operate on a nine game conference schedule with the first conference games occurring on August 30, 2008. Highlighting the first weekend of conference play is the Labor Day Classic in Birmingham, AL featuring Miles College vs. Stillman College.
Always a mainstay in the SIAC, the annual Morehouse/Skegee Classic will take place on October 11 in Columbus, GA. Also in Columbus, GA is the annual Fountain City Classic on November 1. The classic made its national television début on the NFL network last season.
