Virginia State names Jim Junot as Sports Information Director

Virginia State University has named Jim Junot as Sports Information Director. Junot will officially take over the position on Friday, November 10.

Junot, 46, has spent the last four years as Sports Information Director at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Va.
Junot received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Louisville in 1983. He spent 12 years as a reporter for the Louisville Courier-Journal newspaper and as an assistant sports information director at the University of Louisville.
He relocated to Richmond, VA, in 1999 to become webmaster and researcher for best-selling author Patricia Cornwell. After a stint as a staff writer for the Richmond Free Press newspaper, Junot joined VUU in 2002.
Junot sits on the Technology Committee of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and has been honored on three different occasions by the NCAA for innovative thinking in the field of sports information.
Junot is married to his wife of 20 years, Beata, and has two children, Jordan (16) and Taylor (13).
