"I am pleased to introduce Angelyne Brown as the women's basketball coach," Williams said. "We had many qualified candidates to apply, but we believe that we have the most qualified person to take over the position. Coach Brown was the best hire because of her experience as a coach in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and her knowledge of the southeast as a recruiting area."

Brown, who takes over the positions that was previously filled by Sherri Harris, becomes the sixth women's basketball head coach in nine years. Brown takes over the Lady Tiger program after a year coaching hiatus to work on a master's degree.

"I am very excited about coming to Stillman," said Brown. "All of the people that I have met during the interviewing process and after I accepted the job have been very nice and helpful. You have to have a good working environment. Also, I will be getting an experienced team that has been competitive in the SIAC. We have some talented athletes and I want to help them grow on the court and in the class room."

Brown's last coaching experience was at Morgan State University where she led that program from 2002-2005. At Morgan State she recruited several highly touted Division I players, including Sharonda Watson (the school's three-point record holder) and Jennyffer Vargas (the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference blocked shots leader). Her career coaching record is 159-175.

Before becoming the head coach at Morgan State she dominated the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). She spent eight years as the head coach at Clark Atlanta University winning .799 percent of her games.

At the Division II level Brown is an established coach with 14 years experience. She built her reputation as a winner in the SIAC, winning the tournament in 1999 at Clark Atlanta. During her eight-year stint at CAU she compiled a 151-99 record, had no losing seasons, reached the SIAC tournament semi-finals in 2002, and was the 2001 tournament runner-up.

During the 1998-99 season at Clark Atlanta her team finished with a 21-9 overall record (11-4 conference mark) and a sixth place ranking in the NCAA Division II South Region. Brown also has coaching experience at the Division I level.

Prior to taking over at Clark Atlanta, she was an assistant coach at Tuskegee University and Spelman College. Brown began her collegiate coaching career in 1991 at Spelman as the Assistant Basketball Coach. In August of 1992, she assumed the role of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Tuskegee University. While at Tuskegee, she also served as head coach of the women's volleyball team.

In 1996, Brown worked as the assistant director of try-outs for the American Basketball League (ABL), which at that time had a franchise that played its games at Forbes Area on the Morehouse College campus.

Brown graduated from Clark College in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in physical education. She was also basketball training site supervisor for the Summer Olympics in 1996. She is the daughter of Mr. Bishop Warren and Aureila Brown.
