CIAA announces new Eleven Team Bracket for Basketball Tournament

Hampton, VA… The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association has adopted an eleven (11) team bracket for the 2007 CIAA Basketball Tournament to be held in Charlotte, NC beginning Monday, February 26-March 3 at the Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
 With the new eleven team bracket, game times for the opening rounds (Monday and Wednesday) of the women’s and men’s tournament have changed to 3:00pm, 7:00pm and 9:00pm. Regular game times resume for the quarterfinals and semifinals of both tournaments; 1:00pm, 3:00pm, 7:00pm and 9:00pm.
The women’s final is scheduled for 5:00pm, with the men’s final following at 8:00pm.
Actual matchups will be announced Sunday, February 25.
For the 2007 regular season and tournament, the Eastern and Western Divisions will remain intact, however Tournament seeding will be based on conference records.
Seedings will be 1 through 11 with the top five teams earning byes into the second round
If teams share the same conference record, the tie-breaker procedure will be used.
