Livingstone begins a national search for its next Head Football Coach
December 7, 2006
Livingstone College has dismissed head football coach Robert Massey and begun a national search for a new coach.
In two years with Massey at the helm, the football program has finished with identical 1-9 overall and 1-6 conference records.
He was initially hired as the defensive coordinator in 2005 under Ben Coates during his brief tenure as head coach. Massey took over as interim head coach when Coates left for a position in the NFL.
Massey was named CIAA Coach of the Week after Livingstone upset Bowie State in Charlotte, NC on September 23, the Blue Bears only win in 2006.
