UMES Athletics adds three new
administrators

PRINCESS ANNE, MD - Keith Davidson, Acting
Director of Athletics of the University of
the Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), has announced
the addition of three new administrators to
the Athletics Department staff. Joining the
staff as Assistant Director of Athletics for
Budgeting & Fiscal Operations/Senior Woman
Administrator is Sharon Brummell. Neema Connor
assumes the post of Compliance Director while
Danita Mendez-Townsend joins the Hawks as Coordinator
of Student Athletes.
Sharon Brummell is no stranger to UMES as
she will begin her eighth season as Head Women's
Bowling Coach this fall. During her tenure,
the Lady Hawks have won two Mid-Eastern Athletic
Conference (MEAC) bowling titles (2000, 2006)
and qualified for the NCAA Bowling Championships
every season since 2003, the inaugural year
for the event. Brummell has been employed by
the University since 1996 and previously served
as an accountant in the Vice President's Office.
Connor was named Compliance Director on July
1. Prior to being named to the position, Connor
worked in several capacities for the UMES Athletic
Department and most recently served as Assistant
to the Director of Athletics. She holds a bachelor's
degree (2001) from the University of Pittsburgh
and master's degree (2003) from UMES.
Mendez-Townsend comes to UMES from the Worcester
County Public School system where she served
as an English teacher and guidance counselor.
