SIAC announces its Preseason 2006 All Conference Volleyball Team and Predicted Order of Finish

Tucker, GA – The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its 2006 Preseason All Conference Volleyball Team. Heading the list are three returning SIAC All Conference team members from the 2005 season. The usual favorites Albany State University, (East Division) the five time consecutive SIAC Tournament Champions, and Kentucky State University (West Division) reigning Western Division Champion, were chosen to finish atop the East and West Divisions of the SIAC.

Amongst those named to the SIAC Preseason All Conference Team three are returning. That list includes Crystal Braud and Jennifer Holman of Clark Atlanta University and Deborah Jones of Fort Valley State University. Deborah Jones, returning 2005 All Conference and returning 2005 All Tournament member, will try to dominate once again as she ranked 2nd in the conference last year in kills averaging 4.75 kills per game and 3rd in the conference in blocks averaging 1.13 blocks per game. Clark Atlanta University and Paine College each had 3 players named to the team. Fort Valley State and Kentucky State each had 2 players named and Benedict College and Miles College wraps up the schools with players named to the team.

Leading the pack once again is Albany State who will try to win their 6th consecutive SIAC Conference Tournament Title as they return many players from last years squad. Kentucky State University will look to repeat as the Western Division Champion in 2005. With a new coach and a new attitude Kentucky State will look to challenge for the SIAC Tournament Championship.
