Delaware State 37, NC A&T 21

Dover, DE – In front of homecoming crowd, the Hornets of Delaware State University ran pass the Aggies of North Carolina A&T State University 37-21.  The win improved the Hornets to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in the MEAC, while the Aggies extended their losing streak to 11 straight (including last season) and dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-4 in the MEAC.

Vashon Winton (6'2, 195-QB-r-SO/Chicago, IL) got the Hornets on the board first with 2:42 left in the first half on a 17 yard run and it was his first of three scores.  Winton finished the afternoon with 80 yards rushing and three touchdowns on seven carries, and he also completed six of 14 passes for 118 yards and one touchdown.

The Hornets picked up 316 yards on the ground and finished with 434 total offensive yards.  The MEAC's leading rusher, Emmanuel Marc (5'10, 205-RB-SR/Spring Valley, NY) finished the afternoon with 167 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries.

The Hornets scored 23 unanswered points in the third quarter and never looked back after leading 14-7 at the half.

Tyrone Kelly (6'0, 190-DB-r-SR/Detroit, MI) led all tacklers with four solos, and nine assisted, along with one pass break-up.  Also big defensively was James Parker (6'4, 280-DT-JR/Shirley, NY) with two tackles, a fumble recovery, along with an interception that was returned nine yards.

Michael Ferguson (5'11, 205-RB-SO/Durham, NC) led the Aggies on the ground with 103 yards and one touchdown on 31 carries and Wayne Campbell (6'5, 215-r-QB-FR/Port Charlotte, FL) completed 19 of 37 passes for 165 yards.

DSU will travel to Baltimore, MD next week to face the Bears of Morgan State, while A&T will host Howard in their homecoming contest.
