Southern Band to miss game against Texas

BATON ROUGE -- The Southern University Band, under the direction
of Dr. Isaac Greggs, will not perform at the Texas Southern
game in Houston, Texas. The band will in turn, participate
in a fundraising Battle-of-the-Bands at AW Mumford Stadium,
on Saturday, November 5th.
“The SU Band has a previously scheduled event, therefore
they will not be in attendance in Houston for the Texas Southern
game, unfortunately”, says Kevin Manns, SU Sports Information
Director.
“Had this game been played on the original date, November
3rd, they would have made the trip. But the with announcement
of change of game venue and date, Dr. Greggs had already scheduled
the band to participate in this fundraising event here in Baton
Rouge. We look forward to having their support for the
rest of the season at Arkansas-Pine Bluff and at the Bayou
Classic.”
