Morgan and Howard Athletic Staffers to
be honored by All-American Football Foundation

The All-American Football Foundation will hold its 75th Banquet
of Champions on Thursday, December 8, 2005 at the Baltimore
Marriott Waterfront Hotel. Staff members from Morgan
State and Howard will be recognized for their outstanding contribution
to college athletics.
From Morgan State, Kimberly Ross-Watkins will
be honored as an Outstanding Academic Coordinator. Ms Ross-Watkins
has been on the Morgan State Athletics staff since 1991 and
doubles as the assistant coach of the schools nationally recognized
Cheerleading squad. She is a member of the National Association
of Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A); serves as the NCAA
Life Skill Coordinator for the University and is the advisor
for the MSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She is a member
of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
MSU Assistant AD Joseph McIver will be recognized
as an Outstanding Assistant Director of Athletics. This honor
marks the second time, the All-American Foundation has recognized
Mr. McIver, being named an Outstanding Sports Information Director
at the 1999 banquet in Princeton, New Jersey. McIver has served
thirty years on the MSU Athletics staff. He is a member of
the school’s
Athletic Hall of Fame and member of MSU’s 1974 NCAA National
Championship Basketball team. He is a member of the National
Association of College Director of Athletics (NACDA); the National
Association of College Marketing Administrators (NACMA) and
the NCAA Leadership Institute for Ethnic Minority Males. McIver
served six years as a committee representative for the NCAA
Women’s Championship first and second round tournament
games.
Other honorees include Howard University’s A.B.
Williamson,
Outstanding Director of Athletic Business Affairs, and Edward
Hill, Outstanding Sports Information Director. Morgan alumnus,
Ben Eaton, Head Football Coach of Baltimore Dunbar High, Obie
Barnes, Head Football Coach of Forest Park High and James Monroe,
Head Football Coach from Lake Clifton-Eastern High.
The banquet
will also honor Maryland Governor Robert Ehrlich, Prince
University with the Outstanding American Award and Art Modell
of the Baltimore Ravens with the Lamar Hunt Pro Football Executive
Award.
