BOSTON, Mass.-- St. Augustine’s College claimed its ninth overall NCAA Division II men’s title, while Lincoln (Mo.) picked up its second national crown in three years in winning team titles at the 2006 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Stonehill College and the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center.

St. Augustine’s won the men’s crown for the first time since 2001, posting a team score of 66.5 points to end runner-up Abilene Christian’s run of four straight titles. Adams State and Lincoln placed third and fourth, respectively, in the men’s competition.

Lincoln (MO) University posted a team score of 87 points to outdistance runner-up Abilene Christian’s score of 50.33 points, as St. Augustine’s and Adams State finished third and fourth, respectively, in the women’s competition.

A total of eight Division II national records were broken during the championships, including an exciting duel in the high jump between Minnesota State-Mankato’s Jim Dilling and Morehouse’s Keith Moffat, who both set championship marks by jumping 2.29 meters.
