South Carolina State Releases 2006 Football Schedule

ORANGEBURG, SC - South Carolina State will play an 11-game football schedule for the 2006, Bulldog athletics director Charlene Johnson announced Wednesday.

The slate, which includes four home games, will have just one new team, as Wofford returns to the Bulldog schedule after a one-year hiatus. That contest is set for Sept. 23 at Spartanburg.

SCSU will open the season Sept. 09 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina against Winston-Salem State, which has applied for Division I-AA status and is expected to join the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.

The Bulldogs play the first of their four home contests Sept. 16 against MEAC foe Bethune-Cookman (Community Day).

Other home games include Norfolk State (Youth/ROTC Day) Oct. 7, Hampton (Greek & Organization Day) Oct. 21, and Howard (Homecoming/Senior) Nov. 4.

Additional road games Coastal Carolina Sept. 30, Florida A&M Oct. 14, Delaware State Oct. 28, Morgan State Nov. 11 and North Carolina A&T Nov. 18.
