FAMU appoints Compliance Director

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Florida A&M University
announced Monday afternoon the appointment of a new NCAA Compliance
Director, Rosalyn Dunlap, J.D.
Ms. Dunlap, who served as the Director of Athletic Compliance
at the University of Missouri from 1997 to 1998, will be Assistant
Athletic Director for Compliance at FAMU.
She is holder of a 2005 Juris Doctor degree from the Florida
A&M University Law School. Ms. Dunlap also holds two masters
degrees – an M.B.A from the University of Missouri-Columbia
(1994) and a masters in Architecture from the University of
Illinois at Chicago (1986-87). She also received a B.S. in
Housing and Interior Design from the University of Missouri-Columbia
(1983).
Prior to pursuing her legal studies, Ms. Dunlap served as
Associate Director for the National Consortium for Academics
and Sports from 1998 to 2003. There she coordinated National
Office activities for 220 member colleges and universities,
as well as six regional offices located throughout the United
States and Canada.
At Missouri, she coordinated annual NCAA compliance education
seminars for coaches and staff; developed a coaches’ recruiting
manual and assisted in management and supervision of game day
operations.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Ms. Dunap was a five-time Track
and Field NCAA All-American at the University of Missouri between
1980 and 1984. She competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials in the
400 meters in 1980 and 1984, while setting a world record in
the 600 yard dash in 1982.
Active in community-related activities, especially those organizations
dealing with youth, Ms. Dunlap is also a member of various
organizations and boards in the realm of athletic administration,
academic advisement, business, and health.
In addition, she served as senior women’s administrator
and assistant athletic director for compliance at San Francisco
State University (1996-97), and served as senior women’s
administrator and assistant athletic director for academic
services at St. Mary’s (Calif.) College (1992-96).
