Grambling alum becomes owner of indoor
football league franchise

Richmond, VA - The Atlantic Indoor Football League champion
Richmond Bandits proudly announce Shujaa Salters has taken
the reigns and will become the team's new owner.
Salters, who joined the team as Director of Sales during the
inaugural season helped to create a loyal team following in
Richmond through sponsorship and season ticket sales. Working
in the Bandits' front office afforded Salters the opportunity
to become a part of the team's successful run as the first
AIFL champion. Prior to his first position with the Bandits,
Salters worked on the Olympic level in marketing for the United
States Olympic Committee and as a manager in direct sales in
Texas.
"In keeping with the mission of the AIFL, I want to provide
the fans in the Richmond and the surrounding areas with the
best football entertainment possible," said Salters. "With
the quality of coaches, players and committed staff we have
in the front office, the Bandits will have no problems in securing
another successful season."
Salters, a native of Montclair, N.J. attended Grambling State
University in Louisiana. He earned his Bachelor of Science
degree in Business in 2000 and his Master's of Science in Sport
Administration in 2001. Salters was also a member of the GSU
Tiger Marching Band and performed in Super Bowl XXXII.
Salters is a member of both Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and Iota
Phi Theta Fraternity Incorporated. He is single and resides
