Delaware State football to host three night
games in 2006

Dover, DE --- The newly installed lights at Delaware State University’s
Alumni Stadium will get plenty of use during the 2006 football season. Three
of the five home games on the Hornets’ 2006 schedule will kick-off at
7:00 p.m. The exceptions are the October 14 Homecoming affair against North
Carolina A&T and the November 4 meeting with Concord (WV), each scheduled
for 1:00 p.m.
This year’s Alumni Stadium night games are September 9
vs. St. Francis (Pa.), September 30 vs. Hampton and October 28 vs. South Carolina
State. Lights were installed at the stadium last December. The Delaware high
school Division I and II football championship games were the first to be played
under the lights at Alumni Stadium on December 16 & 17.
The Hornets are
also scheduled to hold the April 29 Red-White spring football scrimmage at
7:00 p.m. A new artificial surface (A-Turf) is also being installed at Alumni
Stadium. It is expected to be in place by the April 29 spring scrimmage.
