Bowie State releases 2006 Football Schedule

(BOWIE, MARYLAND) The Bowie State University Department of Athletics has announced its 2006 football schedule. BSU finished last season with an 8-4 overall record (6-2 in the CIAA) and 4-1 in the CIAA Eastern Division. The Bulldogs also captured the CIAA Eastern Division Championship and participated in the conference championship game and represented the CIAA in the Pioneer Bowl.

“I feel that the 2006 schedule is a very well balanced schedule and very competitive … I like our home dates particularly the rematch with North Carolina Central,” said Bowie State Athletic Director Derek Carter.

Bowie State will open the 2006 campaign at home against the Yellow Jackets of West Virginia State University – Saturday, September 2nd at 1:00 P.M. The Bulldogs will play the next three games away from Bulldogs Stadium (Johnson C. Smith, Morgan State and Livingstone) before returning home against North Carolina Central. BSU travels to Shaw (10/7) then will celebrate Homecoming - Saturday, October 14th against Elizabeth City State University. Second year Head Coach Mike Lynn will lead his troops into Lawrenceville (VA) for the first time – Saturday, October 21st to face the Tigers of Saint Paul’s College. Bowie State will close out the regular season with back-to-back home dates against Virginia Union (10/28) and Virginia State (11/4).
