PENSACOLA, FLA. - The NCAA Division II Men¹s
Tennis South Regional began this morning at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson
Tennis Complex on the campus of University of West Florida.
In the first round, first seed No. 1 West Florida (25-2) defeated
fourth seed Tuskegee 5-0.
The Argonauts gained a 3-0 advantage after doubles play.
In the No. 1 match, sixth-ranked Paulius Jurkenas and Mario
Vergara (20-6) downed Andre Moore and Eric Palmer 8-3. Diego
Zorzi and German Dalmagro (18-4) defeated Charles Harris
and Mychal Defreitas 8-3 in the No. 2 match. For the third
win at the No. 3 spot, duo Jonas Mouly and Nicolas Barreintos
won by default.
Another default win came to UWF in the No. 6 singles match.
To conclude the competition, Dalmagro (11-5) defeated Defreitas
by sets of 6-0 and 6-1 in the No. 5 match.
