Grambling State released finalized 2005 football
schedule

GRAMBLING, La. – The Grambling State University athletics
department officially announces the release of the 2005 finalized
football schedule. This eleven-game schedule will include four
home games along with a date on the west coast.
The G-Men will open the season against their traditional early
season Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival, the Alcorn
State Braves in Alcorn State, Mississippi at Jack Spinks Stadium
on September 3rd. Then on the following weekend, the team will
return to Robinson Stadium for their home opener against the
Alabama A&M Bulldogs on September 10th in Grambling, Louisiana.
On September 17th, the Tigers will travel to Seattle, Washington
to face the Washington State Cougars at Qwest Field, which
is the home of the Seattle Seahawks. The following weekend
will be the first of two open dates for the season.
The official kickoff times for both the Alcorn State and Washington
State games will be announced at a later date.
The Tigers will head west to Dallas, Texas to take on the
Prairie View A&M Panthers in the Annual State Fair Classic
on October 1st at the Cotton Bowl. On the following weekend,
the team will return home to face the Mississippi Valley State
Delta Devils at Robinson Stadium.
On October 15th, the G-Men will head north to Pine Bluff,
Arkansas to take on the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions at
Golden Lion Stadium. Next up for the team will be a trip to
Mississippi Veterans Memorial Stadium for an October 22nd date
against the Jackson State Tigers.
Grambling State will return home to face the Texas Southern
Tigers at Robinson Stadium for homecoming on October 29th.
In the next weekend, the team will travel to Montgomery, Alabama
to face the defending SWAC champion Alabama State Hornets at
Cramton Bowl on November 5th.
The G-Men will return home for their final home game of the
2005 season against the Concordia College Hornets on November
12th. The following weekend will also be their last open date
of the season.
Grambling State will close out the season in their annual rivalry
game against the Southern Jaguars in the Bayou Classic that
will take place at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans on
November 26th.
