Mississippi Valley
announces 2005 football schedule

Itta Bena, MS --- The Mississippi Valley State University
Department of Athletics is pleased to formally announce the
Delta Devil 2005 Football Schedule. The 11-game schedule will
feature five home games in Rice-Totten Stadium, five away games
and one neutral site game in which Valley will be the host.
The Delta Devils will open the season in “The Windy
City” as they host Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the Chicago
Football Classic (Sept. 3). They return home to host defending
SWAC Western Division champions Southern University (Sept.
10) before a short trip to Huntsville, Al to take on Eastern
division foe Alabama A&M (Sept. 17). MVSU then wraps up the
month playing host to nemesis Jackson State University in a
September 24th showdown.
Following their only open date of the season the Delta Devils
travel to North Louisiana to take on Grambling State (Oct.
8) before heading west to take on Paul Quinn College in “The
Big D” Dallas, TX (Oct. 15). Homecoming is next on tap
as Texas Southern University comes to town for an October 22nd
date. The following week Valley makes a return trip to the
Lone Star state as they travel to Prairie View A&M to face
the Panthers October 29th.
Valley opens November on the road at Alcorn State University
(Nov. 5). They then return to the friendly confines of Rice-Totten
Stadium for High School Day and to take on Alabama State (Nov.12).
And finally they wrap up regular season play hosting to non-conference
opponent Southeastern LA University on “Take-A-Kid- To
the Game Day” (Nov. 19).
