    Six players with HBCU connections were selected during the 2005 National Football League Draft.
    Howard University's Ronald Bartell (St. Louis) and Bethune-Cookman's Nick Collins (Green Bay) were defensive backs picked in the second round.
    Hampton wide receiver Jerome Mathis (Houston) was selected in the fourth round followed by NC A&T center Junius Coston (Green Bay) in the fifth round.
    Grambling State linebacker Kenneth Pettway (Houston) and Tuskegee wide receiver Harry Williams (NY Jets) were picked in the seventh round.
