The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference took a brief break from its
17th Annual Volleyball Tournament to honor those athletes selected for All-SIAC
honors. Twelve women were named to the all-conference team with six on the
first-team and six on the second-team.
Albany State University and Kentucky State University, the SIAC’s two
best squads, swept the Individual Superlative Awards. Albany State’s
Janel Herring was named the SIAC’s Offensive Player of the Year. Kentucky
State’s Stephanie Johnican was named the Defensive Player of the Year.
Kentucky State’s Walter Pauly was named SIAC Coach of the Year and Erica
Nepote of Albany State University was named Most Valuable Player.
