State selects Michael Lynn as head football coach

(BOWIE, MARYLAND) Bowie State University has selected Michael J.
Lynn, Jr. as its new Head Football Coach. "I'm very excited about the
opportunity afforded to me," said Lynn. Lynn replaces Henry Frazier
who accepted the head coaching position at Prairie View A&M University.
Lynn joins the Bulldogs family after serving as Director of Football Operations
and Assistant Coach (Offensive Line) at Morgan State University (2002 - 2004).
Some of Lynn's achievements in 2003 include; three All-MEAC Offensive Linemen
and Morgan State's team ranking 3rd in MEAC rushing and total offense. Prior
to his current position, he served as Morgan State's Interim Head Football
Coach (November 2001 - February 2002), Assistant Head Football Coach (January
2000 - November 2001) and Defensive Line Coach (April 1999 - January 2000).
He began his coaching career at Suitland High School (Forestville, MD) where
he served as Assistant Football Coach (1996 - 1999) and Head Wrestling Coach
(1995 - 2000). Lynn played his college football at Morgan State, where he
lettered all four years as offensive guard.

relationship that continues our winning program and allows us to assists in
the development and maturation of our student-athletes."
Lynn, 35 graduated from Morgan State in 1990 with a degree in political science.
A native of the Washington, DC metropolitan area, Michael and his wife Gayle,
have a daughter Briana and son Michael, III and they reside in Ft. Washington,
MD.
