GRAMBLING, La. – Grambling State University athletics has released a
revised 2004 football schedule. This schedule will feature all of the Southwestern
Athletic Conference teams including four home games and two non-conference
contests.
The G-Men will open the 2004 season against the Alcorn State Braves at Robinson Stadium on September 4th. Then on September 11th, the team will hit the road to face the Alabama A&M Bulldogs at Louis Crews Stadium.
The September 18th game that was originally scheduled against the Howard Bison at FedEx Field in Washington, D.C. has been replaced with the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats. This game will be called the Proctor and Gamble Ohio Classic which will be played at Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Following the open September 25th weekend, the G-Men will head west to Dallas, Texas to face the Prairie View A&M Panthers in the State Fair Classic on October 2nd at the Cotton Bowl. On the following weekend, the team will head east to Itta Bena, Mississippi to face the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils at Rice-Totten Stadium on October 9th.
On October 16th, the Tigers will return home to Robinson Stadium to face the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions. On the following weekend, the team will play host to the Jackson State Tigers on October 23rd.
The G-Men will again head west to the Lone Star State to face the Texas Southern Tigers at Robertson Stadium in Houston on October 30th. The team will return home for the last time for a November 6th homecoming showdown against the Alabama State Hornets.
On November 13th, the team will head east to face the Savannah State Tigers at Wright Stadium in Savannah, Georgia. Then on November 27th the G-Men will close out the 2004 season against the Southern Jaguars in the State Farm Bayou Classic at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans.
