The 100% Wrong Club of Atlanta will honor Albany State University head football
James "Mike" White and defensive lineman Walter Curry during their
70th Annual Awards Banquet at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel in Atlanta on Feb.

White, who received the club's 2002 SIAC Coach of the Year award, led the
2003 Golden Rams to their first SIAC championship since 1997 and a spectacular
10-2 record during the 2003 season. Albany State made its first appearance
in the Sixth Pioneer Bowl, which pits the SIAC champion against the champion
of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and defeated the Fayetteville
State University Broncos, 52-30. Under White's leadership, the 2003 Golden
Rams were ranked first in total defense and pass efficiency defense; and second
on scoring defense. The Rams were also ranked fifth in rushing defense, 20th
in scoring offense and 21st in rushing offense.
Curry, a 6-4, 268-pound junior from Crescent City, FL, is a three-year starter
for the Golden Rams. He is credited with 18 sacks for 152 yards during the
2003 season and is ranked first in the nation in Division II. In 12 games for
the Golden Rams this season, he also recorded 79 tackles (39 solos), with 40
for a loss of 187 yards. He is ranked first in the nation in tackles for loss.
The 2003 SIAC Defensive Player of the Year also had four pass break-ups, 17
quarterback hurries, one fumble recovery, one forced fumble and one safety.
He was the Most Valuable Defensive Player of the 2003 Pioneer Bowl.
White and Curry were honored recently by The Pigskin Club, Inc. of Washington,
DC during their 66th Annual Awards Dinner at the Capital Hilton Hotel in Washington.
They were honored as the SIAC Coach and Player of the Year. White received
the Charles B. Fisher Award, and Curry was presented the Oliver M. Thompson
