Fayetteville,NC—The Eastern Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference (EIAC) will kick-off its 2004 Men’s and Womens’ Basketball
Tournament Thursday, March 4 at 2:00PM at the Cumberland County
Coliseum Complex Arena, Fayetteville, NC. Conference officials
had to wait for the last game of the regular season to determine
the tournament brackets. Competition for the second through
the fifth seed changed continuously the last two weeks of the
season.
The men and women 2002-03 regular season and tournament champions, Barber-Scotia
College Sabers, Concord, NC and Claflin University Pantherettes, Orangeburg,
SC, repeat as regular season champions and will receive a first-round bye for
the tournament. The Tigers of Edward Waters College Jacksonville, FL and the
Lady Tigers of Voorhees College Denmark, SC finished as regular season men
and women runners-up and will receive a first-round bye.
