Fort Valley State University running back Duron Croson will still be busy
this off season. Croson has been invited to play in the Cactus Bowl on January
9, 2004 and the Las Vegas All-American Classic on January 17.
Croson, a native of Dade City, Florida, finished his career at Fort Valley
State with 2,892 yards rushing. He also had 34 touchdowns and averaged 5.2
yards per carry in his four years at Fort Valley State. Croson also caught
33 passes for 299 yards and another score to bring his career touchdown total
to 35. He was also a consensus All-American during the 2002 season, and was
voted as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s “Player
of the Year” in 2002.
The Cactus Bowl, which is composed of the top Division II players from across
the country, is sponsored by Whataburger and will kick off at 7:00 p.m. in
Kingsville, Texas. After competing in the Cactus Bowl, Croson will then travel
to Las Vegas, Nevada to participate in the Las Vegas All American Classic which
features players from both Div. I and II.
