2003 Division I Women's Softball: Oklahoma 5, Bethune-Cookman 1

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Oklahoma Sooners used a big fourth inning to defeat the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats 5-1 Thursday afternoon in the NCAA Softball Region Four Championship at the University of Florida Softball Field.
The Sooners had four RBI's, while the Wildcats stranded five players on base in the game.
Bethune-Cookman (47-20) got on the board first with a run by Lamia Scott off of a hit by Amber Jackson. It was the Wildcats' lone run of the game.
Oklahoma (43-12) had all five of its runs in the bottom of the fourth. Leah Gulla's homerun also led to Erin Evans' trip to homeplate, earning Gulla two RBI's. Jennifer Stump singled up the middle, allowing Lori Shimasaki to score the Sooners' third run. Kelli Braitsch and Tiffany Weight also scored runs to finish out the fourth inning.
Oklahoma will face South Florida Friday, May 16 at Noon. Bethune-Cookman will play Florida Atlantic tonight at 8:30 p.m.
