State Names Moses DuPre' Compliance Coordinator

Alcorn State, Miss. - The Alcorn State University athletics department has
appointed Moses DuPre’ as rules
compliance coordinator and coordinator of student engagement. He will be responsible
for
certifying
student-athletes for eligibility, athletics aid and competition. DuPre’ will
also be responsible for maintaining student-athletes educational, scholarship
and records so that it could be available to the athletics staff, student-athletes
and parents. He will ensure that the athletics department operates in compliance
within institutional, Southwestern Athletic Conference and NCAA rules and
regulations. Prior to his arrival at Alcorn State, DuPre’ was the rules
compliance coordinator at Indiana University/Purdue University at Fort Wayne,
Indiana for the past two years.
Alcorn State’s athletics director Robert Raines was very pleased with
the decision to hire DuPre’. “We are very happy that we were able
to acquire an individual who has an extensive background in Rules Compliance
and Athletic Certification. His experience and expertise in these areas will
be a tremendous asset to the athletics department and to the university.”
DuPre’ is a 1982 graduate of Grambling State University with a Bachelor
of Science in Marketing. He is currently pursuing a Masters in Public Administration
from Southern University-Baton Rouge. In 1986, DuPre’ accepted a position
as a Financial Aid counselor and presenter in the financial aid office at Southern
University. He assisted students with completing federal and state financial
aid applications while attending high schools and community groups to present
and assist with information required to complete financial aid forms.
In 1992, DuPre’ moved up the ranks within Southern University as the
assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. He conducted and provided
research to assist the Vice Chancellor with improving individual units under
the umbrella of Student Affairs while also serving as a liaison for the student
affairs for both internal and external groups.
DuPre’ entered the Southern University athletics department as both the
compliance coordinator and academic advisor in 1993. He was responsible for
certifying student-athletes for eligibility, athletics aid and competition.
DuPre’ was also responsible for maintaining student-athletes educational,
scholarship and records so that it could be available to the athletics staff,
student-athletes and parents. He ensured that the athletics department operates
in compliance within institutional, Southwestern Athletic Conference and NCAA
rules and regulations. While at Southern University, DuPre’ also coordinated
and supervised the Student-Athlete Academic Program (SAAP) along with the administering
of a mult-million dollar athletic budget.
In 2001, DuPre’ moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to accept a position as
the athletics rules compliance coordinator at Indiana University/Purdue University
at Fort Wayne (IPFW). While at IPFW, he developed a comprehensive compliance
assistance program that provided a rules education program for coaches, student-athletes,
departmental staff, administrators and the campus community regarding NCAA
rules and regulations. In addition, he was also instrumental in helping to
move the athletics program from NCAA Division II to Division I status.
DuPre’ is a NCAA Athletic Certification Peer Reviewer and a member of
the NCAA Bass Study. He previously served as the president of the Conference
Compliance Association and as a member of the National Association for Academic
Athletic Advisors.
