beat 7-time defending conference champions, Morehouse College.
On the women's side, 2-time defending champions Fort Valley
State University defeated Albany State.

The Most Outstanding Athlete Award went to Nathaniel Roberson
of Albany State University who scored 49 total points in
7 events (110HH, HJ, PV, DT, JT, SP, Dec).
The Outstanding Field Athlete award for the men was given
to Alvin Smith of Fort Valley State University.
The Outstanding Field Athlete award for the women was given
to Jessica Escobedo of Fort Valley State University.
The Outstanding Track Athlete award for the women was presented
to Latosha Rogers of Fort Valley State University.
The Outstanding Track Athlete award for the men was presented
to Josiah Lagat of Morehouse College.
Coach of the Year honors went to Darlene Moore (Fort Valley
State University) and Willie Laster (Albany State University)
for the women's and men's teams respectively.
As always, numerous athletes ran qualifying standards for
the NCAA Division II Championships to be held May 22-24 in
Edwardsville, Illinois where Southern Illinois will be the
host.
