PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Florida A&M senior Robin McClain captured
the women's heptathlon title in the fabled Penn Relays Wednesday afternoon.
McClain, an Orlando, Florida native, scored 5,025 points to win the
event, outscoring Penn State's Danielle Bobo (4,826) by 199 points.
The Lady Rattler standout, who is a two-time champion of the event in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (2000, 2001), won the 200 meter dash
(24.83) and the 100 meter hurdles (14.04); finished second in the long jump (17' 9 3/4") and the javelin (117' 8"), and was third overall in the shot put (36' 11 1/2").
