Golden Rams Get Homecoming Victory
Albany State University quarterback Warin Major passed for 196 yards and one
touchdown and rushed to 74 yards and a touchdown to lead the Golden Rams to
a 33-0 homecoming victory over the Clark Atlanta Panthers.
ASU took a 6-0 lead as result of 25-yard and 37-yard field goals by
freshman Adrian Arango in the first quarter. The Golden Rams scored again
early in the second quarter when Kerenski McGhee rushed four yards to give
the Golden Rams a 12-0 lead. Bryan Thomas caught an 18-yard pass from Major
to up the score to 20-0, and Major rushed five yards in the third quarter
for the 26-0 lead. ASU's final score came when Hosea Harris rushed 33 yards
to seal the Golden Rams' victory.
McGhee rushed for 101 yards on 13 carries and Thomas rushed for 57 yards on
10 carries. Brian Ceaser rushed for 52 yards on three carries for the Rams.
The Golden Rams, now 4-4, 3-2, gained 518 total offensive yards, while the
"Dirty Blue" defense shut down Clark Atlanta, allowing only 75 yards of
total offense. The Rams rushed 330 yards on 45 carries and passed 214 yards
on 18 completions. The Panthers fall to a 2-6, 1-5 record.
Albany State will travel to Columbia, SC to take on the Tigers of Benedict
College on Nov. 1. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
