Johnson C. Smith 29, N.C. Central 14

DURHAM, NC -- North Carolina Central University dropped its season finale 29-14 to Johnson C. Smith University at O'Kelly-Riddick Stadium in Durham, NC. The Eagles fall to 4-6 on the season, their second losing campaign in the past three years.

JCSU (2-8, 1-6 CIAA) amassed 350 yards of total offense, including 271 yards passing, to snap a three-game losing skid to the Eagles. NCCU tallied 312 total yards, including 215 yards through the air, but committed five turnovers and allowed a punt return for a touchdown.

Senior receiver Craig Brown sparked the Golden Bulls with a 49-yard touchdown reception and a 67-yard punt return for a touchdown to give JCSU a 12-0 lead at the half. Brown ended the day with 7 catches for 159 yards. Senior tight end Temarcus McNeil caught a game-high 8 passes for 84 yards, including a 13-yard touchdown connection with quarterback Donja Goodson that sealed the Golden Bull victory with 3:33 left in the contest.

NCCU (4-6, 2-5 CIAA) was led by junior quarterback Lawrence Fuller with 210 yards on 15-for-31 passing, including a 38-yard touchdown pass to junior tight end Quincy Pedew. Junior running back Donnie Pippen, who entered the game with 4 receptions for 51 yards on the season, caught 5 passes for 58 yards versus JCSU. Eagle sophomore Sean Williams also made 5 receptions for 51 yards. Senior running back Anthony Saunders ended his college career with a team-best 51 yards rushing on 9 carries, while fellow senior running back Ernest Rice posted 29 yards on 8 attempts.

Sophomore defensive back Luis George recorded a game-high 9 tackles (5 solo), while Leland Paul and Bobby Brown chipped in with 8 hits apiece.

JCSU linebacker Antonio Jamison made a team-best 6 tackles, including a forced fumble and a pass break-up, while defensive back Nicholas Murray caught 2 interceptions to bring his season total to 10 picks.
