Shaw Lady Bears Win Fourth Straight

SALISBURY – Naomi Mobley recorded her ninth-straight double-double,
leading Shaw with 24 points and 16 rebounds, along with seven
blocks as the Lady Bears rolled past Livingstone 91-57.
Shaw (15-2, 6-1) trailed 17-7 with 11:00 left in the first half,
but went on an 8-0 run as Latasha Shipman’s (20 points)
lay-up tied the score at 17-17 with 8:28 remaining in the half.
With the score tied at 22-22, the Lady Bears went on another 8-0
run capped of by a lay-up by Mobley at the 4:20 mark, which gave
Shaw a 30-22 lead. Shaw led at halftime 39-27.
Shaw finished the game shooting 55 percent from the field, while
the Lady Blue Bears (3-12, 1-7) shot 29 percent from the field
and turned the ball over 23 times. Margiella Mobley also scored
in double figures for the Lady Bears with 18 points.
Angela Thomas led the Lady Blue Bears with 14 points.
Shaw will next play Virginia Union on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at
Dorton Arena.
