Delaware State rolls to victory over N.C. A&T

(Greensboro, NC) - Mandy Clark led three Lady Hornets in double figures with 15 points as Delaware State (4-7, 3-0 MEAC) downed N.C. A&T (1-9, 1-3) 66-51 in women's basketball action at the Corbett Sports Center.

Delaware State never trailed and led by as many as 15 in the first half behind 13 points from Clark and eight from Kimisha Dabney. Dabney scored six points in an 11-0 run that put the Lady Hornets ahead 31-15 with 3:09 remaining. N.C. A&T responded with an 8-0 run that sent both teams into the locker room with DSU ahead 31-23 at the half. Following intermission, the Lady Hornets extended their lead to as many as 20 on an Ashley Etheridge layup with 5:10 remaining in the game.

Clark added nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals. Dabney posted a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Terelle Waller chipped in with 10 points.

Camile Akins led the Lady Aggies with 16 points, including 13 in the second half. Mia Glover and Yanumbe Sherman each scored 12 points.

The Lady Aggies will travel to Princess Anne, MD to play Maryland-Eastern Shore next Saturday. Game time is set for 4:00 PM.
