January 28, 2003
BOWIE, MD---With 20 seconds left and trailing
by four, things looked bleak for the Bowie State University Lady

to them, however, sinking the Lady Vikings of Elizabeth City State
University, 69-67, on two Allyson Hardy free throws with one second
remaining.
Trailing 66-62, Hardy hit a jumper from the top of the key to
bring the Bulldogs to within 66-64. The Lady Vikings Venkia Jones
made one-of-two free throws to keep the window open for the Bulldogs,
and Shari Burgess made them pay.

she drained a 3-pointer from the right wing to knot the score
at 67 with six seconds to play.

charging with 1.9 seconds left in the game. On the inbounds play,

Association) trailed by as many as 11 with just under 11 minutes
to play in the game, but came back on the strong showings by Hardy
