Senior Night ends in triumph for the Lady Blue Bears

Salisbury, NC – Tonight, Livingstone College its ended regular
season play in Trent Gymnasium against the Lady Falcons of Saint
Augustine’s College. The Lady Blue Bears celebrated “Senior
Night” by starting all of its seniors. In preparation for
the CIAA Tournament, Livingstone (8-17, 5-10 CIAA) did not overlook
Saint Augustine’s (8-17, 4-11 CIAA) dominating them from
jump ball with an 20-point halftime lead (32-12). LC would create
a lead as big as 30 points before cruising to a 61-37 final score.
Senior guard Angela Thomas led the way for Livingstone with 14
points. Sherree Gillespie poured in 13 and nine rebounds while
Kautelza Richards added 11. Rookie Rhonda Brown, who scored ten
points, led Saint Augustine’s.
Prior to the men’s contest, the Athletic Department recognized
Head Coach Andrew Mitchell for winning his 100th game this season
and the four seniors on the women’s squad; Keneshia Jackson,
of Charlotte, NC, Shalika Brown, of Georgetown, SC, Angela Thomas,
of Swainsboro, GA, and Robyn Wright, of Vance SC. Angela Thomas
was also recognized with a game ball for scoring her 1,000th-point
during the season. She finished the regular season with a total
of 1,216 points.
