Poor Shooting Lady Eagles Fall to USC Aiken

AIKEN, SC For the second game in a row North Carolina Central
University made just one field goal in a half, this time during
a 62-29 loss at the University of South Carolina Aiken, ranked
No. 17 in NCAA Division II.
On Friday (Nov. 29), the Lady Eagles shot 1-for-18 from the field
(5.6 percent) in a 60-32 setback at Virginia State and managed only 12
points in the final 20 minutes of play.
On Monday (Dec. 2) against the host Lady Pacers, NCCU went more
than 17 minutes of play before sinking their first basket from the
field. Tiona Beatty's three-pointer at 2:23 of the first half made the
score 23-6, and it was the last time the Lady Eagles lit up the
scoreboard before heading to the locker room trailing 29-6.
NCCU (0-5) shot a dismal 1-for-28 from the floor (3.6 percent) in
the first half, and finished the contest shooting 16 percent (9-for-56).
Lady Eagle juniors Tiona Beatty and Nicole Davis netted a team-high
7 points each, shooting a combined 4-for-31 from the field, including
2-of-17 from behind the arch.
USC Aiken (6-2) had 11 of 12 Lady Pacers in the scoring column,
topped by Jen Kennedy and Allison Nold with 10 points apiece.
