Hot Shooting Coppin State Downs Aggies

(Greensboro, NC) - Larry Tucker scored 26 points on 11-13 shooting from the field to lead visiting Coppin State (7-13, 7-4 MEAC) to a 66-50 victory over N.C. A&T (0-18, 0-11) in men’s basketball action at the Corbett Sports Center.
Coppin State shot a blistering 60 percent (27 of 45) from the field, including six of ten from three-point range. Jimmy Boykin hit four three-pointers and finished with 18 points, while Deke Thompson added 10. Raheem Scott dished eight assists for Coppin State, which has won six of its last seven, all against the MEAC.
N.C. A&T made just nine of 25 shots (36 percent) in the first half, as they trailed 35-23 at halftime. The team ended the game at 40 percent (20 of 49) and committed 20 turnovers. Landon Beckwith was the only Aggie to score in double figures with 17 points.
The Aggies will host Morgan State in Corbett Sports Center on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM.
