LIvingstone Squeezes Past Newberry College

Salisbury, NC- Livingstone College Blue Bears squeezed by the Indians of
Newberry College 79-73 in New Trent Gymnasium. LC outscored Newberry in the
first half by 11 points for a 37-26 halftime break. Both teams struggled in
the first half, but the Blue Bears intensity proved to be too much for the
Indians.
Starting freshman Michael Brown carried the team in the 1st half with
15-points and finished the game as the Blue Bears highest scorer with 18.
Michael nailed thee three-pointers in the first half and acknowledges five
assists from the team's leading scorer Jerome LaGrange - who finished the
game with 17 points and 11 assists, his first double-double of the season.
The starting five proved to have the hot hand as all starters finished in
double figures. Olufemi Abiodun finished with 13-points, Mike Dundas
finished with ten, while Christopher Johnson also turned in his first
double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Livingstone continues its
undefeated season at 3-0.
The Indians picked up their intensity to tie the game in the second half at
50-50 with 10:37 remaining in the game. Livingstone would slip away from
Newberry after the Indians tied the score for the third time with 7:48
remaining. The Blue Bears used a full court press to deflate the Indians
attempts to take control of the game.
Rashaad Carter of Newberry College poured in a game high 21 points (19
points in the 2nd half) while Brandon Moses and Reggie Coleman assisted with
16 and 13 points respectfully.
The Blue Bears travel to Atlanta, GA to play in the SIAC vs CIAA
Tournament hosted by Clark Atlanta University on December 6-7.
LC will face Central State University (OH) and Clark Atlanta University.
